2016-17 (Track): Competed at two meets during the indoor season, running a mile in 5:01.55 at the UW Invitational and ran the 1,000-meters at the UW Indoor Preview in 3:00.71 β¦ redshirted the outdoor season ...Β (Cross Country):Β Competed four times during her first college season and three times in uniform, including a trip to the Pac-12 Championships β¦ was the 10th Husky finisher at the Pac-12 meet, placing 80th overall in Tucson, Arizona β¦ also made the trip to the Wisconsin Invitational, running in the Open Race and finishing 47th β¦ first official race in uniform was the Washington Invitational where she was 62nd overall in 22:03 β¦ ran unattached at the Sundodger Invite, finishing 14th overall in 21:48.
High School and Personal: Born in Bellevue, Wash. β¦ parents are Scott and Meg Penner β¦ has three brothers, Charlie, Will, and Thomas, with Charlie graduating from UW in 2015 and Will currently attending UW β¦ was sixth at the Washington 3A state cross country meet as a senior in 2015 β¦ eighth at the 2015 Nike BorderClash β¦ took third at state on the track in her senior year in the 3,200-meters, running 10:58.61, after a PR of 10:49.90 to win districts β¦ also was seventh at state in the 1600m final as a senior β¦ as a junior, qualified for state in the 800m, 1600m, and on the 4x400m relay β¦ won six individual KingCo titles on the track and one 4x400m relay title, plus two KingCo cross country titles β¦ won Coachβs Captain Award as a senior in track and Most Inspirational and Most Valuable awards in cross country and won βPat Thorlakson Female Athlete of the Yearβ for 2015-16 β¦ graduated with a 3.93 grade point average.
