2017: Competed just once on the season, high jumping at the Stanford Invitational and clearing 6-5.
2016: Season highlighted by a clutch performance at the Pac-12 Championships in Seattle, as he was a surprise podium finisher, clearing a season-best 7-0 Β½ to take third-place β¦ qualified for NCAA West Prelims once again in the high jump, finishing in a tie for 27th with a make of 6-9 Β½ β¦ cleared 6-11 at the Pepsi Team Invitational to finish third β¦ tied for second in the high jump at the Pac-12 vs Big Ten Invite, going 6-6 ΒΎ β¦ also long jumped outdoors with a best of 22-2 ΒΌ at the UW-WSU Dual β¦ indoors, finished 10th in a strong high jump field at the MPSF Championships with a season-best make of 6-10 ΒΎ, tying for No. 10 in school history indoors β¦ cleared 6-8 ΒΎ at the UW Indoor Preview in his season opener.
2015: In his first season competing in uniform, he made significant progress in the multi-events, but had his biggest breakthrough in the high jump, where he tied the fourth-best mark in school history and advanced to NCAA West Preliminaries β¦ at the Pac-12 Multi-Events, he PRβd in the high jump by nearly four inches, making it over 7-1 Β½ when his high jump best was previously 6-9 ΒΎ β¦ that clearance tied for fourth in school history and qualified him for West Prelims in Austin, where he finished in a tie for 28th with a make of 6-9 ΒΎ β¦ had a foul in the long jump at the Pac-12 decathlon, hampering his final score, as he finished 14th overall, highlighted by the high jump win β¦ first full decathlon was at the California Invitational, where he scored 6,387 points, winning the high jump at 6-8 ΒΎ and taking second in the long jump at 22-5 ΒΎ β¦ won the long jump at the UW-WSU Dual meet going 22-4 Β½ and he also got a point in the triple jump with a third-place finish β¦ set a then-PR of 6-9 ΒΎ in the high jump at the Pepsi Team Invite, finishing third β¦ indoors, competed at the MPSF Championships in the long jump and high jump, finishing 15th in both, as he long jumped 22-1 and high jumped 6-6 ΒΌ β¦ indoor high jump best was 6-8 ΒΎ at both the Husky Classic and the UW Invitational β¦ earned Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention.
2014: Redshirted his first season to preserve a year of eligibility, training and competing unattached in the multis β¦ indoors, completed a heptathlon at the UW Invitational, though he no heighted the pole vault resulting in a score of 3,810 points β¦ took fifth overall in the open high jump at the Husky Classic, as he cleared a season-best of 6-8 ΒΎ β¦ had a best long jump of 21-4 ΒΎ at the UW Indoor Open and raised his shot put best to 38-1 Β½ β¦ outdoors, competed once at the Washington Open, long jumping 21-0, and throwing the javelin 138-feet.
High School and Personal: Born in Tacoma, Wash. β¦ parents are Dana and Tobius Murray β¦ has one brother, Javon, and one sister, Makenzie β¦ father played basketball at the University of Baltimore β¦ one of the top jumpers in the state, scoring in both the high jump and triple jump at the 4A state level β¦ as a senior in 2013, he took fourth in the high jump, equaling the second-best clearance at 6-6, and going 44-4 to finish third in the triple jump β¦ twice cleared a personal-best of 6-8 in the high jump during his senior season β¦ won the district and regional triple jump titles in 2013, and the 2012 regional titles in both the high jump and triple jump β¦ won the 2013 Pasco Invite high jump with a clearance of 6-7 and the triple jump at 44-6 β¦ first at the 2013 Shoreline Invite with a high jump of 6-8 β¦ cleared 6-6 to take second at the 2013 BorderDuel Track Classic β¦ also lettered two years in basketball, earning Defensive MVP honors in 2011-12 and 2012-13 β¦ graduated with a 3.69 GPA.
