2019: Ran the 800m at the Ken Shannon Invite in 2:18.59 … ninth in the 1,500m at the UW-WSU Dual … ran once unattached indoors at the Last Chance Elite Meet.
2018: Competed from the 800-meters up to the steeplechase in her first season … indoors, twice ran the mile, with a best of 5:07.38 at the SPU Final Qualifier … ran an 800-metesr in 2:15.42 at the Husky Classic … outdoors, won the 800m at the Cougar Open in 2:17.45 … tried out the steeplechase at the UW-WSU Dual, finishing fifth in 12:06.43.
High School and Personal: Born in Seattle ... parents are Anne Rees and Shawn Slack ... has one older sister, Margaret, who currently attends UW, and one younger sister, Carolyn ... competed in the mid-distances on the track, winning a Wesco league title at 800-meters as a sophomore ... a two-time Washington 4A State Championships competitor in the 800-meters, taking seventh as a junior and 11th as a freshman ... also made state in 2016 and 2017 on the 4x400m relay ... fifth at Wesco cross country as a senior and was 41st at state despite losing a shoe at the start ... 29th at the state XC championships as a junior ... a National Merit Scholar, graduating with a 4.0 GPA.
