2016-17 (Track): Ran a full season and competed at both conference championships indoors and out … raced at his first Pac-12 Championships, finishing 22nd in the 5,000-meterse in 14:59.88 … had a season-best 5,000m time of 14:23.30 at the Stanford Invitational, and also ran 14:24.62 at the Mt. SAC Relays … fourth in the 3k at the UW-WSU Dual in 8:25.12 … indoors, was 22nd at the MPSF Championships in the 5k in 14:31.38 … a 3k PR of 8:09.31 at the Husky Classic … named a Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention ... 2015-16 (Track): Redshirted the track season ... (Cross Country): The only true freshman on the squad to compete in uniform, including a run at the Pac-12 Championships … ran in the top-seven at the Washington Invitational and the Wisconsin Invitational … was 58th at his first Pac-12 meet, eighth on the team, in 24:56 … finished 170th overall at Wisconsin, sixth on the squad, in a time of 24:54 … the sixth Husky finisher, 54th overall, at the Washington Invite in 24:11 … ran unattached at the Sundodger Invite, placing 13th overall in 24:38.
High School and Personal: Born in Kirkland, Washington … parents are Mary and Wayne Barringer … has one younger brother, Shane … wrapped up a senior cross country season that saw him take runner-up honors at the 4A Washington state championships … became the first Bothell runner in 41 years to win the individual KingCo Championships title which he took as a senior in 2014 … also won the KingCo 3,200-meters title on the track as a senior … sixth at the 4A state meet in the 3,200-meters as a senior and 13th in the 1,600-meters … as a junior on the track, made the finals in both the 1,600-meters and the 3,200-meters at the state meet, taking fourth in the 3,200 and 10th in the 1,600 … ran PRs of 9:05.53 in the 3,200 and 4:14.42 for 1,600 in 2014 … a three-time BorderClash competitor, with a best finish of 20th in 2014 … graduated with a 3.4 GPA and considering studying business.
