An All-Big Ten Honorable Mention in 2024-25, Sayvia Sellers enters her third season with Washington.
2024-25 (SOPHOMORE)
Sellers scored double-figures in 25 of 33 games and ended her season T-14th in the Big Ten in field goals made per game (5.8), T-10th in assists per game (3.9), and ninth in steals (1.8). She averaged 15.3 points in the 2024-25 campaign and recorded 30-point performances against Utah (12/14) and Michigan (1/15). In The Bahamas, Sellers’ scoring barrage continued against No. 7 LSU (11/25), where she knocked down 24 points with four 3-pointers. The proficiency from behind the arc allowed the sophomore to finish fifth in the Big Ten in 3-point makes (41) and eighth in 3-point field goal percentage (38%). In her sophomore campaign, Sellers improved her overall shooting percentage by seven percent (47%, 190-404) and her shooting percentage from behind the arc by over eight percent (38.7%, 67-173).
2023-24 (FRESHMAN)
Sellers was named to the Pac-12 Media All-Freshman Team and the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team in 2023-24 after averaging 8.5 points, 2.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.3 steals per game in 31 appearances (11 starts). Her best scoring performance came against Arizona (2/18) with 20 points. Against Oregon (2/23), Sellers dished out 10 assists, becoming the second freshman to record double-digit assists in program history. She was the first Husky to reach the figure since 2017 and the 15th player in program history. Sellers’ 3-point shooting shined in the brightest moments — notably knocking down three shots from behind the arc against No. 19 Louisville (12/20). When she added three more against Georgetown (3/21), Sellers moved to No. 6 for 3-pointers made by a freshman (35) and T-6th for 3-point field goal attempts by a freshman (116) in program history. She finished the season shooting 40% from the floor (102-255), 30.2% from behind the arc (35-116), and 74.2% at the line (23-31).

The four-star recruit joined the Huskies after breaking several state records and winning multiple championships with Anchorage Christian School. As the No. 28 player in the ESPN 100, Sellers led her team to a remarkable 92-10 four-year record, including three 4A State championships (2020, 2022, and 2023), four undefeated conference records, and three conference championships (2020, 2022, and 2023). Sellers finished 76-0 in games played in Alaska, the only player to reach this milestone.
Her remarkable high school career features an impressive statistical legacy. Sellers left Alaska as the state’s all-time leading scorer with 2,651 points. She was selected as one of the 25 players on the mid-season team and finished as a member of the 30-player Jersey Mike’s All-America Team. Additionally, Sellers was named to the McDonald’s All-American watch list, becoming the only player from Alaska to receive a nomination. While competing for Anchorage Christian, Sellers also played for Jason Kidd Select.
PERSONAL
Sayvia grew up as the youngest of eight to her mother Tamika Sellers; her grandfather, Thomas Steed; and aunt, Toshia Steed. She was born into a competitive environment, with all of her brothers playing basketball for their high schools and competing at the JUCO level. In order of age, her siblings are Devarion, Najja, Antonio, India, Taurean, Taleja, and Jahbez. A true Alaskan, she enjoys spending days on the water and hiking in her free time. Her dream is to play in the WNBA. She intends to study Communication.
