Washington Wins Regular Season Finale Over Oregon, 70-69
March 01, 2026 | Women's Basketball
EUGENE, Ore. β The Washington women's basketball team used a clutch free throw from Devin Coppinger in the final seconds to pick up a huge 70-69 road win at Oregon on Sunday. With the victory, the Huskies earned their first 20-win season since 2016-17.
The Huskies were effective shooting the ball, knocking down 45.8% of their shots from the field and 33.3% of their shots from behind the 3-point line.
That was due in part to the early production from Sayvia Sellers, who finished the first half shooting 6-for-6 from the floor and knocking down four 3-pointers. Sellers finished the afternoon with 29 points, marking the sixth time this season she's finished with 25 or more points in a game.
Elle Ladine was the second Dawg in double figures, finishing with 11 points, five rebounds, and two assists. Seven Huskies recorded at least a bucket and Coppinger matched her season-high with nine points. She knocked down two 3-pointers in the first half to give Washington some early momentum and bookended her performance with the game-winning free throw with five seconds remaining.
The Huskies forced 14 turnovers from the Ducks and notched seven steals. Avery Howell led Washington with three.
Washington held Oregon to just nine points in the first frame β the fourth time in the last two games the Huskies have held the Ducks to single-digit points in a quarter.
Sellers led the Huskies with five assists, while Howell added eight rebounds.
Up next, Washington will travel out to Indianapolis for the Big Ten Tournament. It'll face USC on Thursday, Mar. 5 at 9:00 a.m. PST.
