Shayla Gillmer enters her fourth season with Washington.
2024-25 (JUNIOR)
In back-to-back contests, Gillmer registered eight points against Pacific (11/7) and Siena (11/10). She collected a season- high five rebounds and two assists against Furman (12/19).
2023-24 (SOPHOMORE)
Gillmer was all over the glass in the season opener against Sacramento State (11/6), collecting a career-high eight rebounds. She matched that mark twice more in her sophomore season, against Seattle U (11/18) and Saint Mary’s (12/16). Against Pacific (11/15), Gillmer added six points, and she dished out two assists against NC Central (11/9). Gillmer was selected as a member of the 2024 Pac-12 Winter Academic Honor Roll. She finished her sophomore season shooting 42.9% from the floor (9-21).
2022-23 (FRESHMAN)
She made her Washington debut in a win against UC Davis (11/11). Gillmer dished out an assist and registered a block against SIUE (12/20) in the Husky Classic.
HIGH SCHOOL
Gillmer joined the Huskies after playing three years at Aliso Niguel High School and one year at Ontario Christian High School in Southern California. Throughout her career, Gillmer improved year after year and graduated with All-CIF Division I honors (2021-22). She finished as MaxPreps’ No. 25 ranked recruit in the state of California.
After transferring to Ontario Christian her senior year, Gillmer, alongside teammate Chloe Briggs, helped the Knights achieve a perfect record in conference play. She averaged a remarkable 19.0 points, 3.5 assists, 13.0 rebounds, 2.5 steals, and 1.7 blocks per game, earning her Ambassador League (2A) Player of the Year and Athlete of the Year.
Although she only started playing organized basketball as a freshman, she already averaged a double-double by her junior season with 16.2 points and 13.9 rebounds per game — marks that helped lead her team to a South Coast League Championship. She was teammates with fellow Washington seniors Hannah Stines and Elle Ladine on their club team, Cal Storm Team Taurasi.
PERSONAL
Shayla is the daughter of Shonnie Gillmer and Stefan Gillmer. Her mother, Shonnie, played tennis at Cal State Fullerton. Gillmer has two younger siblings. Gillmer intends to study Communication.
