2021-22:ย Schwartz was a vital member of the Husky roster during her first season with the team. She started in all 23 contests, averaging a team-high 32.9 minutes per game with 10.3 points per game. On January 21, Schwartz scored 18 points against Oregon, going 7-for-11 and 3-for-3 on three-point shooting, adding five rebounds and four assists. Schwartz also had 17 points against UCLA on February 13 on 7-of-11 shooting and 3-of-4 from distance. By the end of the season, she led the team in free throw percentages at 89.5% and three-pointers made (28).
Rice:ย Schwartz played two seasons at Rice University before announcing her transfer to the University of Washington. She was a key leader on the team from day one, playing and starting in all 56 games during her two-year stint. By the end of her career, Schwartz set the program record for post-season three-point percentage (46.8) and helped the Owls to their first-ever WNIT Championship.
Schwartzโs tact as a playmaker was on full display during her sophomore season. She averaged 13.1 points and 4.2 rebounds on the season, shooting 50.6 percent from the field and a team-best 42.0 percent from three-point territory. She scored 20 or more points four times, including a season-high 27-point performance vs. FIU in the C-USA Tournament, and scored in double-figures 20 times. Unsurprisingly, Schwartz earned herself a spot on the C-USA All-Tournament and All-Conference Teams. She led the Owls to their first-ever WNIT Championship and made the WNIT All-Tournament Team to cap off her stellar season. During the tournament, she shot a remarkable 54.2 percent from the field and 93.8 percent from the free throw line, with 20.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game.
As a true freshman, Schwartz started in all 29 games and was named to a five-member Conference USA All-Freshman Team, becoming only the fourth player in school history to earn such honors. She was also a three-time C-USA Freshman of the Week and finished fourth in C-USA in three-point percentage (.367) and fifth in free throw percentage (.840). She scored in double-figures 15 times, including a season-high 21 points in a win over Western Kentucky, and made at least one three-pointer in 19 of 29 games. Her productivity was consistent throughout the season, as she contributed 14 points against Old Dominion (3/7) to help the Owls secure the outright regular season title and poured in 19 points against No. 5 ranked Texas A&M.ย
Off the court, Schwartz thrived in the classroom and was named to the C-USA Commissioners Honor Roll as a Freshman and Sophomore.ย
High School:ย Schwartz was a dual-sport athlete at Larry A. Ryle High School, playing three years of varsity soccer alongside her basketball career. On the court, she helped lead the Raiders to the programโs first regional championship in 2018 and a Kentucky State Championship in 2019. Schwartz was named 33rd District All-Tournament Team, MVP of the 9th Region, and NKY Association All-Conference Division I. She was also selected to participate in the prestigious Kentucky/Indiana Junior All-Star Game and played AAU at Kentucky Premier for coaches Trent Milby and David Tarpley.
Personal: Lauren is the daughter of Amy and Scott Schwartz and has two sisters, Mallory and Brooke. In addition to playing professional basketball, Lauren intends to pursue a career in biomedical sales.ย
