Recorded her second consecutive double-digit point performance when she recorded 14 with three blocks in a 66-40 win over Southern (11/25). McGaughy delivered 20 points in a 71-39 win over Vermont (11/23) to become the first Husky to record at least 20 points in one of the first five games of their collegiate career since Tameiya Sadler in 2020-21.
Brynn McGaughy joins the Huskies as the first five-star recruit under Tina Langley and the highest-rated recruit ever to commit to Washington. She garnered national acclaim after achieving perfection at nearby Central Valley High School in Spokane Valley, Washington. In her lone year with the school, McGaughy led the Bears to a 27-0 record and claimed a 3A state title in 2025. In the Tacoma Dome, she contributed an 11-point, 11-rebound performance to edge out Seattle’s Lakeside in the championship. McGaughy averaged 16.3 points, 9.1 rebounds, 1.9 blocks, and 1.3 assists her senior season, marks that earned her Gatorade Player of the Year, WIAA 3A Tournament MVP, and The News Tribune’s All-State Player of the Year. She was only the second player from Central Valley to be named Gatorade’s Player of the
Year, joining WNBA star Lexie Hull.
Her prestige stretched far beyond Washington’s borders, with ESPNW listing her as the No. 14 recruit in the 2025 class. McGaughy was one of only six Huskies to play in the McDonald’s All-American game, joining heralded Huskies Katie Collier (2012), Kelsey Plum (2013), Deja Strother (2015), Nancy Mulkey (2016), and Dalayah Daniels (2020). She was one of only four Washington high school girls nominated as a McDonald’s All-American and one of just 25 players nationally to be selected to the Naismith High School Player of the Year Midseason team.
Before transferring to Central Valley, McGaughy made her mark with Colfax High School, leading her team to an undefeated season as a sophomore. After winning the 2B state title, she was named Washington’s 2B player of the year. She averaged 17.8 points, 10.0 rebounds, and two blocks her junior season and scored a game-high 17 points with seven rebounds, three blocked shots, and two assists in the state quarterfinal. McGaughy competed for Meta Hoops Idaho out of Boise on the club circuit.

Brynn is the daughter of Katie Swan and Casey McGaughy. Her great uncle, Randy Casey, was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys.
