2021: The fourth-place finisher in the decathlon once again at his final Pac-12 Championships, setting several event PRs and earning a career-best point total of 6,928 … closed out the Pac-12 decathlon with a win in the 1,500-meters in a career-best time of 4:34.15 and also won the pole vault at 15-9 … was fourth in the decathlon at the Jim Click Shootout scoring 6,907 points, getting a 400m PR of 49.34, an outdoor long jump best of 22-5 ¾, and a shot put best of 38-9 … ran on both 4x1 and 4x4 relays at the Pac-12 Championships, taking seventh in the 4x4 in 3:10.71 and 10th in the 4x1 … clocked a 110m hurdles PR of 15.82 at the Jim Bush Legends Invite … indoors, won the heptathlon at the Husky Classic with 5,231 points, winning the 1,000m in 2:47.59 and getting a high jump PR of 6-0 ½ … set a 60m hurdles PR of 8.71 seconds at the UW Indoor Preview … made the Pac-12 Spring Academic Honor Roll … named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team.
2020 (Indoor Track; Outdoor Season Canceled): Set or matched his PRs in all seven of the indoor heptathlon events during an impressive indoor season … ranked 31st nationally in the heptathlon with a PR of 5,487 points, the new No. 2 mark in school history that came in a fourth-place finish at the MPSF Championships … at the MPSF Championships, won the final 1,000-meters in a PR of 2:38.75, and won the long jump with a massive PR of 23-7 1/2, over a foot farther than his previous lifetime-best … matched his pole vault PR of 15-9 at MPSFs and also had a shot put PR of 42-11 1/2 for fourth in the event … also completed a heptathlon at the UW Invitational, scoring 5,353 points to take second with another win in the final 1,000-meteres in 2:39.62 and a PR of 7.10 in the 60-meters, and a 60m hurdles PR of 8.75 … earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors.
2019: Transitioned into the multi-events and scored for the Huskies at both the Pac-12 and MPSF Championships … placed fourth at the Pac-12 Multi-Events in the decathlon to score five points for UW, posting a career-best point total of 6,872 points … top Pac-12 decathlon finishes were second in the pole vault with a PR of 15-9 and a runner-up 1,500-meter time of 4:42.32 and had a javelin PR of 167-5 … first decathlon came at the Bryan Clay Invitational, scoring 6,606 points … indoors, scored in the MPSF heptathlon with a seventh-place finish with a PR of 4,957 points, the new No. 8 mark in school history … also scored 4,899 points in the heptathlon at the UW Invitational.
2018: Had a full indoor season in the pole vault and competed at first three meets outdoors before ending his season … opened up outdoors clearing 15-7 at the Trojan Invitational for seventh … also cleared 15-3 at the Pepsi Team Invitational for eighth and long jumped 21-5 ¼ for sixth-place … indoors, competed at his first MPSF Championships, taking 15th in the pole vault at 15-5 … had season-best clearance of 15-8 ¼ at the UW Invitational.
2017: Redshirted the season, competing one time unattached in the pole vault, clearing 14-2 at the Ken Shannon Invitational.
High School and Personal: Born in Hood River, Oregon … parents are Carrie and Barry Kennedy … has one younger sister, Katie … a versatile athlete who won the Oregon 5A state title in the pole vault as a senior in 2016 with a make of 15-0 while also finishing second at the same meet in the 300-meter hurdles with a PR of 39.38 seconds, helping Hood River win its first state team title … also led off his team’s 4x100m relay that took third at state in 2016 … as a junior, was third at state in the pole vault and set a PR earlier in the season, clearing 15-9 … completed multiple decathlons, winning Junior Olympic state and regional titles in 2014, and also competing at Junior Olympic Nationals in the decathlon in 2012 as the youngest competitor in the field … a six-time individual Columbia River Conference champion … also lettered four years in basketball and was varsity MVP in 2013 and 2016, and first team all-league in 2016 … while competing in the 2016 Oregon Junior Olympic decathlon, was leading after eight events and on track for a big PR, but while warming up for javelin, he fell forward onto the javelin after a warm-up throw, with the javelin puncturing his eye and entering his brain; amazingly he was able to make a full recovery and maintain eyesight … graduated with a 3.42 grade point average.
