2025 Outdoors: Finished high up in the triple jump at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships, earning a fourth-place finish to highlight his sophomore season β¦ at Big Tens, leaped 50-11 for fourth β¦ at NCAA West Prelims, went 50-9 1/2 to finish 26th overall β¦ opened the outdoor season going 50-1 3/4 at the Stanford Invitational for fourth β¦ garnered USTFCCCA All-Academic honors β¦ named to the Spring Academic All-Big Ten team.
2025 Indoors: Scored at the Big Ten Indoor Championships, taking sixth overall with a triple jump of 50-4 3/4 β¦ improved his indoor PR to 50-5 1/2 at the UW Invitational, going to No. 5 in school history β¦ sixth at the Don Kirby Elite Invite in Albuquerque, going 50-2 1/2.
2024: Made the Pac-12 podium as a true freshman and had the best triple jump mark by a Husky in seven years β¦ at Pac-12s, took third in the triple jump at 50-0 ΒΎ to help the Huskies win the team championship β¦ a phenomenal outdoor debut at the Stanford Invitational as he flew to a triple jump PR of 51-6 ΒΌ to take the win and go to No. 3 in school history β¦ was named Pac-12 Menβs Field Athlete of the Week following that outdoor opener at Stanford β¦ qualified for NCAA Prelims, finishing 22nd overall going 50-4 ΒΎ β¦ won the Brutus Hamilton Invite triple jump going 50-7 ΒΌ into a -1.7 headwind β¦ indoors, best triple jump mark was 49-3 Β½ at the UW Invitational for second β¦ won the triple jump at the Husky Classic, going 48-8 ΒΌ β¦ earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors.
High School and Personal: Born in Olympia, Wash. β¦ parents are Nisha Thompson and Charles Smith β¦ has one younger sibling, Avani β¦ mother was a cheerleader for the Seahawks for seven years β¦ a three sport start, captaining the basketball team and earning First Team All-League in the South Sound Conference, and played on the 2022-23 state champion football teams β¦ the Washington 3A State triple jump champion as a junior and a senior, winning the title as a senior with a PR of 50-4 Β½ β¦ also was state runner-up in the long jump as a senior, going 22-4 β¦ also won conference and district titles in the high jump as a junior β¦ a total of four district titles in the jumps.
