Huskies Wrap Up Penn Relays Run
April 25, 2026 | Track & Field
PHILADELPHIA – A fourth-place finish from the women's 4x800-meter squad and a sixth-place run from the men's 4xMile brought UW's Penn Relays run to a close today at Franklin Field. The Huskies finished in the top-six in all four of their relays over the past two days.
The women were entered in both the 4x1500m and the 4x800m today but scratched the longer event to focus on the 4x8. Chloe Symon led off and held the lead at the first exchange with a 2:08.51, then Jenica Swartz ran 2:05.51 and kept UW at the front. Mia Cochran ran 2:07.58 on the third leg and passed to Chloe Foerster who split 2:05.10 to bring the Huskies home in fourth overall behind Penn State, Stanford, and North Carolina, and ahead of Michigan, Michigan State, Army, Georgetown, Oregon, and Clemson to round out the top-10.
The men's 4xMile was a largely tactical run, exemplified by the fastest time on the opening leg being 4:13.39, and the fastest second leg was 4:08.23. Josiah Tostenson led off and passed to Tyler Bilyard, then Reuben Reina, and Martin Barco anchored for the men. Reina had the fastest split for the Huskies going 4:03.99 on leg three and moving UW up into sixth position, which was where they finished in an overall time of 16:48.86.
Next week will be the last split squad weekend and last regular season meets, with the OSU High Performance Meet in Corvallis, Ore. and the Desert Heat Classic in Tucson, Ariz. being the final opportunities before the Big Ten Outdoor Championships.
