Huskies Fall 68-67 At Oregon

EUGENE, Ore. – The Washington women's basketball team (14-11, 5-8 Big Ten) endured a back-and-forth fight Wednesday night before ultimately falling as Oregon squeaked out a 68-67 win inside Matthew Knight Arena.
The matchup was the 111th time these two squads have faced off and first as Big Ten opponents. Three of the last four games between the two have been decided by four or fewer points.
UW held the Ducks (17-8, 8-6 Big Ten) to just 3-of-14 shooting from behind the arc (21.4 percent).
The Dawgs maintained narrow leads at the end of each of the first three quarters. Washington saw a 32-27 halftime advantage led by Elle Ladine with 11 first half points on 5-for-7 shooting.
Sayvia Sellers finished with a team-high 21 points on 9-of-15 shooting, to go along with five assists, three rebounds, three steals, and a trio of three-pointers.
Dalayah Daniels added 17 points, six rebounds, and an assist.
Ladine gave the Dawgs 16 points and seven rebounds on 7-of-10 shooting.
The Ducks started the third quarter on a 9-0 run before the Huskies went on a couple of runs on their own, taking back the Oregon lead 41-40 with a 5-0 run.
Washington went on a 7-0 burst that was capped by a Hannah Stines left corner triple. Stines finished with seven points, three rebounds, and an assist.
The Dawgs and Ducks exchanged buckets for most of the fourth before Oregon connected on two foul shots to escape with the one-point victory.
Washington will get another opportunity as Oregon will play in Seattle on March 2 for the regular season finale.
Washington will now travel back north for two home games inside Alaska Airlines Arena, first hosting No. 6 USC on Sunday, Feb. 16. Sunday will be UW's Pink Game and will tipoff at 4 p.m. Sunday on Big Ten Network.
The Huskies will then host Rutgers on Thursday, Feb. 20 for the Black History Month game before their last regular season road trip of the season at the end of the month.
