
Washington Hosts Montana Monday

SEATTLE — Washington's start to the 2025-26 season continues with a home game against Montana for the 20th all-time meeting between the two programs. The Huskies won their season-opener last Monday in a dominant 90-43 win against Seattle U. The Lady Griz won their first game against Seattle Pacific (81-44), but dropped their contest against Oregon on Saturday (90-47).
The game vs. Montana tips off Monday, Nov. 10 at 6:00 p.m. PT in Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle, Wash. and will be aired on the B1G+ with Jason Dorow (PxP) and Ben Maya (Analyst) on the call. Gary Hill Jr. will call the action on 1090 KPTR-AM.
OPENING TIPS
» The Huskies scored 90 points against Seattle U last Monday, the fourth time it has done so the last two seasons and the fifth all-time under Langley.
» Including Team Canada's championship game in GLOBL JAM, Avery Howell is now 11-for-11 from behind the 3-point line in her last two contests.
» Howell knocked down all four of her 3-point attempts against Seattle U, and all five of her attempts from the field.
» In the win over Seattle U, three Huskies finished in double-figures (Sayvia Sellers, 21; Howell, 18; & Sienna Harvey; 15)
» Sellers is tied for fourth in the Big Ten in PPG (21) and tied for seventh in assists (7)
» Seattle U's 43 points was the fewest Washington has allowed since Furman posted the same total on Dec. 19, 2024.
» Every Husky that recorded a minute last Monday collected at least one rebound.
LAST SEASON
The Huskies ended a seven-year drought and clinched an NCAA Tournament berth after an impressive Big Ten debut. Washington led the conference in field goal percentage (49.5%), 3-point percentage (40.1%), and free throw percentage (83.6%) during conference play last season. Elle Ladine was named All-Big Ten Second Team, while Sayvia Sellers and Dalayah Daniels were named All-Big Ten Honorable Mention.
BAND'S BACK TOGETHER
Washington returns eight members from last season's team, including four starters — guard Sayvia Sellers, guard Hannah Stines, guard Elle Ladine, and guard Chloe Briggs. Additionally, the Huskies bring back guard Devin Coppinger, guard Teagan Brown, forward Shayla Gillmer, and forward Olivia Anderson. Sellers and Ladine both received 2024-25 postseason and 2025-26 preseason honors from the Big Ten Conference.
NEW FACES
Washington women's basketball welcomed three new Huskies on National Signing Day with ESPN.com's No. 14-ranked recruiting class. This is the third top 15 class in the last four seasons for Coach Langley and her staff. UW added four standouts to the program with Brynn McGaughy, Nina Cain, Sienna Harvey, and Daniella McLean, along with two transfers with Big Ten experience in Avery Howell (USC) and Yulia Grabovskaia (Michigan).

» He had previously served as an assistant coach for Montana since 2021-22 and was later promoted to associate head coach
» Montana finished last season 14-18 and tied for fifth in the Big Sky conference with an 8-10 conference record

» Six of Montana's 14-player roster are newcomers, with five joining through the transfer portal
