SEATTLE -- Washington women's basketball (11-4, 1-3 Pac-12) remains at home when the Huskies host the Arizona schools on Montlake. First up, UW hosts Arizona (10-7, 2-3 Pac-12) on Friday, Jan. 19 in Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle, Wash. for a 7 p.m. PT tip off. This is the 71st meeting all-time between the programs. The game will air on Pac-12 Arizona with Elise Woodward and Alyssa Charlston on the call. Gary Hill will call the action on KJR 950 AM.

Daniels led the team with eight rebounds. 2023-24 SEASON NOTABLES

» Going 11-0 to start the season tied Washington's best start to a season in program history, the last and only other time being the 1976-77 season.
» 11 wins in a row tied for the third-longest win streak in program history. The last time UW had gone 11-0 at any point in the season was the 2016-17 season.
» 11-4 is the best start to a season for the Huskies since 2016-17.
» UW's 51.6 PPG allowed is the fourth-best scoring defense through the first 15 games of the season in program history, with the top three happening back in the '70s.

LAST SEASON

The 2022-23 season saw the most overall and conference wins since the 2016-17 season. The Huskies made their first postseason appearance since 2017 when they earned being an automatic qualifier to the WNIT, and moving on to the Fab Four was the furthest Washington had advanced in program history.

Dalayah Daniels earned Preseason All-Conference Honorable Mention recognition, as voted on by the media.

THE TEAM

Returners - Washington returns eight from last season's team, including three starters - Lauren Schwartz, Jayda Noble, and Dalayah Daniels. Hannah Stines, Teagan Brown, Nia Lowery, Shayla Gillmer, and Elle Ladine also return. Schwartz, Noble, Daniels, and Ladine all received 2022-23 postseason honors from the conference.

Newcomers - The Husky newcomers are freshmen Olivia Anderson, Chloe Briggs, Ari Long, and Sayvia Sellers. The four were ESPN.com's 14th-ranked recruiting class for the Class of 2023. All four made their Husky debuts during the season opener.

National Signing Day (Class of 2024) - Washington welcomed two new Huskies to the program on National Signing Day (11.08.23) with Devin Coppinger and Annika Soltau. Coppinger, a 5-10 guard from Everson, Wash. (Nooksack Valley High School), will be staying in-state to come to Washington. Coppinger was one of 50 girls named to the 2023-24 Jersey Mike's Naismith Girls High School Player of the Year Watch List (11.16). Coppinger was also one of 724 girls & boys named to the 2024 McDonald's All American Games Nominees list (01.09). Soltau, a 6-4 forward from Freiburg, Germany (Eisvogel USC Freiburg), is coming from across the world to join the Huskies.
