Three-time All-American and Ivy League pole vault champion joined the Huskies in the fall of 2024 β¦ completed his Bachelors of Science in Economics with a concentration in finance at the University of Pennsylvania β¦ pursuing a Masters in Information Management at UW.

2025: In his one season as a Dawg, broke the outdoor school record and reached both NCAA Championships indoors and out, earning two Second Team All-America honors β¦ won the Big Ten Indoor title β¦ in July, set the UW outdoor School Record of 18-9 1/2.
2025 Outdoors: Advanced to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the pole vault, earning Second Team All-America honors with an 11th-place finish, making 17-9 3/4 in Eugene β¦ made 18-0 at Big Ten Outdoors to finish in fourth-place β¦ advanced through NCAA West Prelims with a make of 17-9 1/4 β¦ won the elite section at the Mt. SAC Relays, clearing 17-8 1/2 β¦ opened outdoors with a make of 18-2 1/2 at the Texas Relays β¦ Summer: Hit new heights during the summer months, breaking the UW outdoor School Record at a high performance meet in Chula Vista, going 18-9 1/2 on July 12 β¦ at the USATF Outdoor Championships in August, was 11th overall with an 18-1 1/4 clearance.
2025 Indoors: Reached the NCAA Indoor Championships, placing 10th overall in Virginia Beach with a make of 17-11 to earn Second Team All-America honors β¦ captured the Big Ten Indoor Championship title in his first conference meet as a Dawg, clearing 18-2 1/2 for the victory β¦ was the first Husky athlete of the meet, and in any sport, to win a Big Ten Championship β¦ qualified for NCAA Indoors via a PR clearance of 18-4 1/2 at the Don Kirby Elite Invitational, going to No. 3 in UW history β¦ third at the UW Invitational with a make of 18-1 3/4 β¦ second in the Elite 2 section of the National Pole Vault Summit, making 18-0 1/2 β¦ first meet as a Husky was the Spokane Invitational in Dec. of 2024, clearing 17-9 to win.
2024 At Penn: A First Team All-American indoors in the pole vault and the Ivy League Indoor Champion and a Second Team All-American outdoors and Ivy League runner-up β¦ competed at the U.S. Olympic Trials, placing 18th in qualifying with a make of 18-0 Β½ β¦ finished 13th at NCAA Outdoors in Eugene with a 17-7 ΒΌ clearance β¦ a few days after NCAAs, made a PR of 18-5 ΒΌ at the USATF High Performance Meet in Chula Vista, Calif. β¦ made 18-2 in winning the IC4A/ECAC Outdoor Championship β¦ advanced through NCAA Prelims with a 17-9 ΒΌ make to take sixth β¦ at Ivy League Outdoors, took second to teammate James Rhoads, both clearing 17-11 with Rhoads winning on countback ... indoors, reached the podium at NCAA Indoors in Boston, placing fifth overall with a clearance of 18-0 Β½ for First Team All-America β¦ won the Ivy League Indoor title going 17-7 β¦ indoor season-best make of 18-1 ΒΎ at the Darius Dixon Memorial β¦ also cleared 18-0 Β½ at the Penn State National Open for second.

2023 At Penn: Reached the NCAA Outdoor Championships where he placed 22nd overall to earn All-America honorable mention β¦ nabbed the final spot to nationals with a 12th-place finish at NCAA East Prelims, clearing 17-4 Β½ β¦ runner-up at IC4A/ECAC Outdoors, making 16-4 β¦ made 17-7 at the Transatlantic Series, good for second β¦ indoors, was fourth at Ivy Leagues with a 16-11 Β½ make which was his first meet of the season.

2021 At Penn: Cleared 16-0 ΒΎ at the TCNJ Lions Last Chance Meet on May 13 β¦ won his first collegiate meet, the Penn Challenge on Mar. 27, going 15-11 ΒΌ β¦ Ivy League did not compete indoors in 2021.

High School and Personal: Born in Mountain View, California β¦ parents are Maider and Steve Toney β¦ three older brothers, Drew, Shawn, and Marc β¦ Marc was an All-American pole vaulter at UC Davis and the school record-holder β¦ Californiaβs top-ranked vaulter and the 2020 U.S. No. 2 indoor pole vaulter β¦ senior season in 2020 cut short by Covid pandemic β¦ third-place finisher at the 2019 California State Championships β¦ champion of the high school section of the prestigious UCS Pole Vault Summit, clearing 17-4.
