2024: The top hurdler for the Huskies in her freshman season, qualifying for NCAA West Prelims and reaching the USATF U20 Championships finals … clocked a 400m hurdles PR at the Pac-12 Championships, placing ninth overall in an altitude-converted 58.53 and ran on the 4x400m relay which was 10th in 3:39.52, the No. 8 time in school history … was 36th overall at first NCAA West Prelims … advanced to the finals of the USATF U20 Championships, finishing fifth in a time of 59.47 … broke 60-seconds in the 400m hurdles for the first time at the Mt. SAC Relays, going 59.43 … top 100m hurdles time of 14.22 at the Brutus Hamilton Invite … indoors, raced the 60m, 200m, and 400m, as well as relays … 60m best of 7.99 at the UW Invite … top 200m time of 25.48 at the Frank Sevigne Husker Classic … best 400m time of 56.37 at the Ken Shannon Last Chance meet … ran on the winning 4x4 relay at the Husky Classic, which went 3:43.77 for the No. 6 time in school history.
High School and Personal: Born in Scottsdale, Arizona … parents are Denise and Vince Coleman … has one younger brother, Koa … Vince Coleman was a standout Major League Baseball player from 1985-97, winning National League Rookie of the Year in 1985 and making the 1988 and 1989 All Star Teams; one of the best base stealers in MLB history, he ranks sixth in history with 752 steals and he remains the last player to steal 100 bases in a season, which he did three times from 85-87 … Vince Coleman played one season with the Seattle Mariners in 1995, during Seattle’s first ever playoff run … Kapiolani was the California State Champion in the 300m hurdles in 2022, clocking 42.23, and was third in the 100m hurdles final in 14.14 … set a 300m hurdles PR of 42.19 at the 2022 Arcadia Invite, finishing second … swept the Western League titles as a senior in 2023 in the 100m, 100m hurdles, and 300m hurdles, and ran on winning 4x400m relay … won school’s Career Athletic Achievement Award in 2022-23 … also a standout volleyball letterwinner … three-time Most Valuable Athlete in track … an honor roll member and scholar-athlete award winner.
