2024: Scored again at the Pac-12 Championships in the javelin and competed at NCAA West Prelims … placed 31st in the javelin at West Prelims with a best of 206-4 … season-best throw of 213-5 came at the Mt. SAC Relays ... took second at the Brutus Hamilton Invite with a throw of 210-5 … at Pac-12s, placed eighth in the javelin at 198-4, and also helped the team get a couple points in the 4x100m relay as UW used non-sprinters to get two points out of a seventh-place finish, which contributed to winning the team title … earned both USTFCCCA All-Academic honors and Pac-12 Spring Academic Honor Roll.
2023: Strong redshirt freshman season in the javelin, scoring at his first Pac-12 Championships and advancing to his first NCAA Prelims … at the Pac-12 meet in Walnut, Calif. he threw the javelin a nearly seven-foot PR, going 216-6 to finish fifth overall, helping UW earn its first Pac-12 team title … followed that up with another strong throw at NCAA Prelims, going 214-2 to place 20th overall … prior to Pac-12s, best throw was 209-8 at the Desert Heat Classic where he was seventh … opened the season on Mar. 25 at the Aztec Invitational, going 195-11 … named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team and the Pac-12 Spring Academic Honor Roll.
2022: Redshirted his first season … competed at the USATF U20 Championships, finishing sixth with a mark of 189-8.
High School and Personal: Born in Olympia, Wash. … parents are Jeff and Amy Olsen … has one older brother, Bennett, who also attends Washington, and a younger brother, Soren … uncle John Cook played defensive line for the UW football team from 1986-90 and was drafted by the Chicago Bears … had the top javelin throw in Washington state in 2021, setting a personal-best at 199-3 … won the SPSL Field Athlete of the Year award and was 2019 and 2021 SPSL javelin champion … also took on the decathlon as a freshman and sophomore, taking 18th at the Washington Combined Event Championships in 2019 … lettered four years in football and basketball at Olympia, and was SPSL defensive MVP and an all-area first team linebacker … helped basketball team place fourth at the 2020 state tournament … has played cello for ten years and was part of Olympia H.S. symphony orchestra.
