
Huskies Fall To Fighting Illini On Sunday

SEATTLE — The No. 25 Washington women's basketball team fell to Illinois 75-66 Sunday at Alaska Airlines Arena.
The Huskies set a season-high in blocks, swatting away 10 Fighting Illini shot attempts. Sayvia Sellers matched her career-best in the category, finishing with three blocks.
Washington was efficient from the field, knocking down 54 percent of its shots. UW held Illinois to their season-low in the assist category, limiting the visiting side to just nine.
The Huskies had three different players finish in double figures. Howell tied for the team lead with 17 points and seven rebounds. Sunday marked her 10th game this season finishing with 15 or more points.
Sellers tacked on another 17 for Washington, which was supplemented by four assists, three blocks, and two steals. The junior has dished the ball out at an impressive clip this week, notching 16 over her last three games.
McGaughy followed it up with her fourth double-digit performance in Big Ten play, notching 12 points, four rebounds, and three blocks.
Up next, the Huskies continue their homestand with a game against No. 11 Ohio State on Thursday, Feb. 5 at 6 p.m. PT.
