SEATTLE β The No. 24 Washington women's basketball team fell to No. 9 Ohio State 70-60 Thursday night at Alaska Airlines Arena.
The Huskies fought until the finish, scoring 17 points in the final frame. Sayvia Sellers helped lead the late charge, at one point single-handedly delivering an 11-2 run for Washington.
Sellers, who finished with 26 points for her 11th 20-plus point game of the season, delivered one of the most electrifying moments of the night β hitting a deep 3-pointer from the Alaska Airlines Arena logo as time expired in the first quarter. She finished the night shooting 3-for-6 from behind the arc and 5-for-5 from the charity stripe.
The Buckeyes weren't able to get much going from behind the arc against the Huskies, only knocking down five 3-pointers all night.
