SEATTLE -- The Dempsey Indoor opens up for its 25th season this Friday and Saturday as the Husky track and field team races into 2026 with the UW Preview. Now an expanded two-day meet, the UW Preview is one of three weekends on the schedule for the Dempsey over the next month.
A handful of Huskies started the track season in December with meets in Boston and Spokane, but for the majority of the squad, Friday and Saturday will be their season opener. Friday's action is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. in the field and 4 p.m. on the track. Saturday gets underway at 9 a.m. on the track and in the field.
The meet will be live streamed by RunnerSpace.com. General admission is $12 per day or $20 for the weekend.
Heading into their second season in the Big Ten, the Dawgs aim to continue to shine on the national stage, after winning four individual NCAA titles during the 2025 season, with the women's team claiming fourth-place at both the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships. During the indoor season, Husky athletes will aim to place in the top-16 nationally in their events to earn bids to the NCAA Indoor meet March 13-14 in Fayetteville, Ark.
Storylines at the meet include many Huskies making their UW Dempsey debuts, alongside multiple All-Americans looking to start the latest chapter of their Husky careers, including Mia Cochran, Julia David-Smith, Chloe Foerster, Sara Borton, Big Ten 10k Champ Evan Jenkins, and transfer All-Americans Reuben Reina and James Rhoads
