Huskies Fall 82-69 To Michigan
January 15, 2025 | Women's Basketball
ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Washington women's basketball team (12-6, 3-3 Big Ten) fought back after a slow offensive start, but ultimately fell to the Wolverines 82-69 inside the Crisler Center.
Sayvia Sellers showed out against the Wolverines (12-5, 3-3 Big Ten), firing off for the second 30-point game of her career and matching her career-high. She did it on 50 percent shooting (10-of-20) and a perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line.
This was Sellers' fourth straight game in double figures and 14th of her sophomore campaign. She also added three rebounds, two steals, and an assist.
Hannah Stines added 16 for the Huskies as the junior barely missed from the field, shooting 7-for-8 and pulling down four rebounds. Seven of Stines' 16 came in the second quarter when the guard went on a personal 7-0 run.
Elle Ladine was the third Husky in double digits with 15 points and five boards. Nine of her 15 came in the third quarter.
The Dawgs outscored Michigan in the second and fourth quarters but it wasn't enough to overcome a 12-point UW deficit at the end of the first frame.
Washington shot 47.4 percent from the field (27-for-57), the 10th time UW has shot over 45 percent this season. This was highlighted by 8-of-12 shooting in the fourth quarter by the Dawgs.
The Huskies will return to Seattle to host Purdue on Saturday, Jan. 18, as UW will retire Husky legend Kelsey Plum's jersey during halftime. Tipoff is set for 2:10 p.m. inside Alaska Airlines Arena and will be broadcast on Big Ten Network.
