SEATTLE -- Washington (10-8, 2-6) is headed to the desert for a weekend slate at Arizona and Arizona State. First up, the Huskies take on No. 19 Arizona (15-4, 5-3) in Tucson, Ariz. on Friday, Jan. 27 at 6:00 p.m. PT / 7:00 p.m. MT. This is the fourth ranked team UW has faced so far this season, and this is the 70th meeting all-time between the two programs. The game will be aired on Pac-12 Arizona with Brian Webber and Charli Turner Thorne on the call. Gary Hill will call the action on 1090 KPTR-AM.

With seven seconds remaining in regulation, Lauren Schwartz sunk a three-pointer – her fourth of the game – to tie the game. Haley Van Dyke got a steal as USC tried to counter, and the clock expired, forcing overtime. UW out-rebounded the Trojans 34-31. UW forced 20 turnovers against a USC team that had been averaging 14.4 per game in conference play. Dalayah Daniels led the team in scoring with 17, her highest scoring game in conference play. Daniels also finished with nine rebounds and three blocks. Schwartz was the other Husky in double digit scoring, finishing with 16. Van Dyke added nine points and seven rebounds.

Washington ranks No. 2 in the Pac-12 and No. 17 nationally in rebound margin (9.3). The Huskies are No. 2 in the conference and No. 36 nationally in offensive rebounds per game (14.3), and No. 5 in the conference and No. 55 nationally in rebounds per game (40.6). UW is No. 4 in the Pac-12 and No. 57 nationally in scoring defense (58.4). UW is No. 5 in the conference and No. 51 nationally in blocks per game (4.3). UW is No. 4 in the conference in steals per game (8.7).

Dalayah Daniels is No. 6 in the Pac-12 in blocks (25) and blocks per game (1.4). Jayda Noble is No. 3 in the Pac-12 in steals per game (2.1).

THE TEAM

Washington returns eight Huskies from last season with Lauren Schwartz, Jayda Noble, Haley Van Dyke, Nia Lowery, TT Watkins, Trinity Oliver, Lexi Griggsby, and Darcy Rees. Fans will see six new faces on the team this season, as the Huskies welcomed four freshmen from California - Hannah Stines, Teagan Brown, Shayla Gillmer, and Elle Ladine - and two transfers, Dalayah Daniels (Cal) and Emma Grothaus (Lehigh).

2023 Signing Class
Washington women's basketball welcomed four new Huskies on National Signing Day (11.09.22) with ESPN.com's 14th-ranked recruiting class. This is the second class in a row ranked in the Top 15 that Coach Langley and staff have signed. The Huskies added four standouts to the program with Olivia Anderson, Chloe Briggs, Ari Long, and Sayvia Sellers.

On November 15, the Atlanta Tipoff Club named Long and Sellers to the 2023 Jersey Mike's Naismith Girls High School Player of the Year Watch List. Long and Sellers are two of the 50 girls named to the watch list. On January 11, Sellers was one of 25 named to the Naismith High School Midseason Team. On January 11, Briggs, Long, and Sellers were named 2023 McDonald's All American Games Nominees.

PRESEASON NODS

Van Dyke earned Preseason All-Conference Honorable Mention recognition, and Grothaus was one of 20 players named to the 2023 Lisa Lisa Award Watch List.
