
No. 14 Washington Rounds Out The Regular Season Against Oregon State Thursday

Regular Season Wrap Up
The Huskies will face Oregon State for the last time this season and their last regular season match on Thursday. The match is set to kick-off at 6 p.m. and will be aired live on the Pac-12 Network.
Last Time Out
The University of Washington men's soccer team fell to the SDSU Aztecs, 1-0, in a heated match Sunday evening. The loss marked the Huskies' (13-5-0) first loss in one month, their last loss came from Stanford on Oct. 6. The Huskies outshot the Aztecs 16-7 but were unable to convert those opportunities. The team saw shots from Luke Hausewirth, Justin Schmidt, Danny Gavin, Henry Wingo, Justin Fiddes, Mason Robertson, Elijah Rice and Kyle Coffee.
Season in a Flash
This season the Huskies showed their resiliance and determination. In four matches that went into overtime, they came out with three wins. They have only given up 17 goals this season while scoring 30 total. Three Huskies have four goals for the season, Handwalla Bwana, David Coly and Mason Robertson. Bwana also leads the team in assists with seven.
Awards on Awards on Awards
After the two wins in Northern California the weekend of Oct. 28, including the shutout at Stanford, two Dawgs were given national and conference weekly recognitions. Auden Schilder was placed on the TopDrawer Soccer National Team of the Week and the Pac-12 Player of the Week after his shutout and combined 15 saves. Justin Schmidt was placed on the College Soccer News' National Team of the Week for his defensive work at Cal and Stanford and his game winning header at Stanford.
CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 First Team
Sophomore Quentin Pearson was named to the COSIDA Academic All-District 8 First Team. Pearson currently holds a 3.59 cumulative GPA. He is a pre-health sciences major.
NCAA Tournament on the Horizon
On Monday, Nov. 14, the team will find out if they advance to the NCAA Tournament. Currently sitting at No. 5 in the RPI ranking, the team will most likely advance and have a bye for the first round. This will be the program's 35th time in the tournament, the last time being in 2014 where they lost in the third round to Michigan State. The Dawgs are 3-9 all-time in the second round of the tournament.
Dawgs in the MLS Playoffs
It was Dawgs vs Dawg in the Western Conference Semi Final between the Seattle Sounders and FC Dallas. Cristian Roldan and Darwin Jones of the Sounders faced former teammate Ryan Herman of FC Dallas. The Sounders came out on top after scoring three goals in their two match face-off, one of which came from Roldan.
Scouting the Beavers
Six players have made their Oregon State debuts this season (Norman Jr., Garcia, Miralles, Diaz, Strenov, Chimento), with Norman, Garcia, Miralles, Garcia and Strenov all earning a spot in the starting lineup for at least one game. Overall, newcomers accounted for four of the Beavers' 15 goals, and seven of their 19 assists. The Beavers also have two transfers. Oregon State has outscored its opponents 16-13 in the second half and overtime this season. The Beavers also outscored opponents in the final 45+ minutes last year, by a narrow 12-11 margin.
The Series with OSU
Washington holds the power in the series with the Orange and Black, 38-12-4. Was in Corvallis. David Coly scored that golden goal in double overtime to take home the dub.
Starting I
One Huskies has started all 18 matches this season - Luke Hauswirth. Hauswirth has played 1,582 minutes. He has has one assist and one goal.
In the Rankings
After starting unranked, the Dawgs entered the rankings at No. 16. They are currently ranked No. 11 in the NSCAA Coaches poll and No. 3 in the NCAA RPI. The squad is currently second in the conference behind Stanford (7-1-1).
Surpassed Goals
Last season proved to be an offensive struggle for the Huskies. In the entire 2015 season the team scored 18 goals. In the ten matches this season they have already surpassed that amount by scoring 30.
Thank You Seniors
The team will be honoring seven seniors this Thursday, Justin Schmidt, Steven Wright, Jose Ocampo and Mason Robertson have used up their athletic eligibility. Danny Gavin, Steven Wright and Beau Blanchard are seniors academically but have one more year of eligibility that they can use if they chose to.
