December 06, 2025 | Men's Soccer
COLLEGE PARK, Md. β Washington defeated the top-remaining seed No. 4 Maryland 3-1 on Saturday to secure a spot in the 2025 College Cup. Osato Enabulele, Charlie Kosakoff, and Alex Hall fired in the goals to secure the victory.
Β
The Huskies improve to 14-6-2 on the year with the win. It's the sixth time a Jamie Clark led team has won at least 14 games and his second College Cup appearance.
Β
The victory over Maryland is Washington's fourth road win in the NCAA Tournament. Since the NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament field expanded to 48 teams in 2001, only two teams have ever won four straight road games to advance to the College Cup: UMBC in 2014 and Washington in 2025.
Β
Maryland got on the board first, scoring on a corner kick to take the lead in the 19th minute.
Β
The Huskies didn't back down, however, and found the equalizer in the 38th minute. Richie Aman sent in a corner kick and found the head of Osato Enabulele to knot the match at one apiece.
Β
Maryland was on the front foot offensively in the first half, launching seven shots to the Huskies' three, but the dynamic flipped in the second 45.
Β
The Dawgs dominated after the break, taking the lead in the 55th minute and never looking back. The goal came from Charlie Kosakoff, his 10th of the year and was set up perfectly by Joe Dale.
Β
Washington kept the foot on the gas pedal and found a third goal in the 70th minute. Aman again provided the crucial assist and Alex Hall bagged the goal.
Β
Aman now has 13 assists on the season, tied for second in the Husky record book.
Β
Washington completely took control of the game in the second half, totaling 14 shots to Maryland's four. The Huskies had a total of 10 shots on goal compared to three for the hosts.
Β
Jadon Bowton made two key saves in the game while earning his fourth straight win. Harrison Bertos, Egor Akulov, Connor Lofy and Bowton each played the full 90 minutes in the match.
Β
Kevin Hernandez played a career-high 52 minutes as a substitute in the midfield while Zack Meier also chipped in an important 71 minutes in the victory. Carter Gay played seven minutes as a substitute as well to help see out the game.
Β
Washington moves on to the College Cup for the second time in program history. The Huskies will face No. 16 seed Furman in the semifinal round on Friday at 3 p.m. PT at First Horizon Stadium in Cary, N.C. Β
