Kevin Leach
- Title:
- Technical Coordinator
Kevin Leach is in his eighth season as the volunteer Statistician/Technical Coordinator for the Husky Volleyball team. Leach joined former head coach Jim McLaughlin's staff in 2010 to manage the statistics and films for the team, and Leach was kept aboard when Keegan Cook took over the program in 2015.
Prior to his arrival at UW, Leach managed the statistical analyses for various junior teams at Sudden Impact Volleyball Club and for the Womenโs Volleyball team at nearby Northwest University.
ย
A native of Michigan, Leach earned a B.A. (1975) in Psychology from Eastern Nazarene College, an M.Ed. (1977) in Community Counseling from Georgia State University, and an M.A. (1983) and Ph.D. (1985) in Clinical Psychology from SUNY Stony Brook (now Stony Brook University). He has taught courses in Psychology, Research, and Statistics at Northwest University for 21 years.
Leach brings a background and passion for research and statistical analysis to his roles with the Huskies. While taking statistics from the bench during practices and matches is challenging given the fast-paced nature of volleyball, he finds the biggest challenge is quickly getting out of the way of deflected volleyballs, since Husky players will go through anything, and anyone, to save a rally!
