2024: Sensational season in the long jump carried him to the Olympic Trials, the Pac-12 Championship, and the NCAA podium indoors ... qualified for the 2024 Olympic Trials, placing 16th overall at 25-3 ½ … won the final Pac-12 long jump title in dramatic fashion, going from 6th to 1st in round five with a 25-6 ¼ leap to win the first title by a Husky in the event since 2006 … qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships by placing 5th at West Prelims with a jump of 25-8 … finished 19th at NCAA Outdoors to earn All-America Honorable Mention … indoors, earned First Team All-America honors and became the first Husky to qualify, and score, in the long jump at the NCAA Indoor Championships since 2008 with a fifth-place finish in Boston … at his first NCAA Championship meet, on his first attempt of the competition, PR’d by five inches and hit 8-meters for the first time, going exactly 8.00-meters or 26-3, the No. 2 mark in UW history … was ranked 15th going into NCAAs and finished fifth … prior to nationals, set a then-PR of 25-10 at the UW Preview on Jan. 13 … won the UW Invitational with a best of 25-7 ½ ... also picked up his first Academic All-America honor, making the CSC Third Team ... a Pac-12 Spring Academic Honor Roll recipient and USTFCCCA All-Academic honoree.
2023: In his first year on the team, had the best season by a Husky long jumper in 15 years, placing fourth at the Pac-12 Championships to help UW win its first ever team title … at Pac-12s, had a wind-aided (2.4) long jump of 25-2 ¾ which came in round six and moved him from ninth-place to fourth … qualified for NCAA West Prelims, placing 26th overall jumping 24-2 ¼ … outdoor season-best of 24-11 ¼ at the Fresno State Invite to go to No. 8 in school history … third at the Aztec Invite with a leap of 24-7 … ran on the 4x100m relay at the Aztec Invite, clocking 41.11 … indoors, had the best long jump by a Husky since 2008, going 25-5 ¼ at the Ken Shannon Last Chance Invite, going to No. 4 in school history … won all five long jump competitions he took part in during the indoor season … went 25-feet for the first time at the UW Indoor Preview, an even 25-0 … also went 25-2 ½ at the UW Invitational … named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team and the Pac-12 Spring Academic Honor Roll.
2020-22: Enrolled at Washington but was not a member of the track team … competed unattached during the 2022 season, getting a long jump PR of 24-2 ½ at a meet at Whitworth … also had a long jump of 23-10 ½ at the adidas/Steve Scott Invite in 2022 … jumped indoors unattached at two UW Dempsey meets, getting a best of 22-11 ½ at the UW Invitational.
High School and Personal: Born in Pasadena, California ... parents are Valerie Escofferey-Artis and Greg Artis ... in his junior track season in 2019, was sixth at the Washington 3A State Championships in the long jump … the 2019 KingCo long jump runner-up and was second at Sea-King Championships, jumping 22-5 ½ … also made the state meet finals on the 4x100m and 4x400m relays in 2019 … senior season in 2020 was canceled due to the pandemic ... also lettered in football ... a member of ASB, Honor Roll, and Link Crew in high school.
