Earned his Bachelors of Science majoring in Earth and Planetary Sciences at Stanford … pursuing Postbaccalaureate studies at Washington.
2024: Reached both the NCAA Outdoor and Indoor Championships in the pole vault in his one season as a Dawg, tying for eighth at the outdoor meet to earn his first All-America First Team honor … at NCAA Outdoors, cleared 17-7 ¼ to tie for eighth … advanced through NCAA Prelims with a make of 17-9 ¼ … was the runner-up at the Pac-12 Championships, clearing 17-6 ¼, helping UW win the team title … indoors, tied for 11th at the NCAA Indoor meet in Boston, making 17-4 ½, earning All-America Second Team … made it to NCAAs by clearing a PR of 18-1 ¼ at the UW Invitational, going to a tie for third in school history … third at the Husky Classic with a make of 17-7 ¼ and made 17-7 ¾ at the Ken Shannon Last Chance meet.
2023 (At Stanford): Advanced to the NCAA West Preliminary Championships, placing 24th with a clearance of 17-0 ¾ … made 17-3 ½ at the Pac-12 Championships to finish fifth overall … second at The Big Meet making 17-5 … cleared 17-4 ½ at the Mt. SAC Relays to finish fourth … indoors, made 17-9 ¾ at the Ken Shannon Invite in the Dempsey, taking second overall … second at the TTU Matador Qualifier, going over 17-6 ¼ … won the Spokane Indoor Challenge with a make of 17-7 ¼.
2022 (At Stanford): Earned All-America honorable mention after advancing to the NCAA Outdoor Championships final site, where he finished 21st with a make of 16-10 ¾ … made it to nationals by finishing 8th at West Prelims, going 17-4 ¼ … the Pac-12 runner-up at 16-5 ¼ … over the summer made a PR of 18-0 ½ in Colorado … got the win at the Stanford-Cal dual meet at 17-1 ... won the Payton Jordan Invite title going 17-5 … indoors, twice cleared 17-7 ¾, once at the Pac-12 Invitational in Seattle, and once at the Don Kirby Open in New Mexico … won the Razorback Invitational clearing 16-10 ¾ … won the season-opening UW Indoor Preview at 16-8 ¾.

High School and Personal: Born in Superior, Colorado … parents are Amy and Pat Manson … father was a two-time U.S. top-ranked vaulter and three-time Pan Am Games gold medalist after lettering at Kansas … mother, the former Amy Legacki, was a two-time Big Ten distance champion at Indiana … has one younger sister, Mia, a pole vaulter and jumper at Michigan and a champion climber … took third at the 2019 Pan Am U20 Championships in Costa Rica … second at the 2019 USATF U20 Championships going 16-10 ¾ … won the 2018 Colorado 5A championship by breaking a 32-year-old state meet pole vault record held by his father … jumped 17-3 ½ (5.27 meters) to edge his father's mark by a half-inch … also won 2019 state 5A title while at Monarch High School … 2019 New Balance Indoor Nationals champ at a PB 17-5 1/2 (5.32m) … 2017 Junior Olympic national champion … placed third at the 2018 New Balance Indoor Nationals … Max is a champion climber, summiting all 53 of Colorado's 14,000-foot peaks by age 12 … Colorado's 2017 Young Climber of the Year … owned two divisional speed-climbing championships … has his own You Tube channel: "Adventures to the Max".
