2023: Competed just three times but that included a PR and a scoring finish at the Pac-12 Championships to help the Huskies win their first-ever menβs team championship β¦ at Pac-12s, threw a new lifetime-best of 204-6 to finish sixth-place β¦ season-opener of 201-10 at the Mt. SAC Relays to take seventh β¦ also threw 198-2 at the Desert Heat Classic β¦ named to the Pac-12 Spring Academic Honor Roll.
2022: Threw four times during the outdoor season, including an 11th-place finish at the Pac-12 Championships β¦ season-best was a third-place finish at the UW-WSU Dual, throwing 199-6 β¦ opened the year with a toss of 188-1 at the Raleigh Relays β¦ a Pac-12 Spring Academic Honor Roll member.
2021: Scored at his first career Pac-12 Championships with a fifth-place finish in the javelin, throwing a personal-best of 200-5 β¦ made his season debut at the UW-WSU Dual, throwing 190-7 to place fourth β¦ threw 199-3 at the West Coast Relays to finish fourth β¦ a Pac-12 Spring Academic Honor Roll recipient.
2020: Outdoor season canceled due to COVID-19.
High School and Personal: Born in Kirkland, Washington β¦ parents are Mike and Jill Gockel β¦ has one older brother, Brandon, one younger brother, Bode, and one younger sister, Brooke β¦ one of the top javelin throwers in the state, taking second at the 3A level in both 2018 and 2019 β¦ a three-time Kingco league champion in the javelin β¦ set a personal-best of 187-8 during his senior season β¦ also lettered in football and basketball and was a first team All-League selection in football as a linebacker β¦ earned a scholarship as a 2018 Washington Association Sportsmanship winner.
