
Huskies And Hawkeyes Face Off For Purple Out Wednesday Night

SEATTLE – The UW women's basketball team (13-6, 4-3 Big Ten) will host its fourth Big Ten game Wednesday night inside Alaska Airlines Arena, hosting the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. and the game can be viewed on Peacock. Elise Woodward (play-by-play) and Aja Ellison (analyst) will be on the broadcast, with Gary Hill calling the action on 1090 KPTR-AM.
Wednesday's game will be a Purple Out, as fans are encouraged to wear UW purple to the arena.
LAST TIME OUT
Sayvia Sellers made the Big Ten Women's Basketball honor roll (Jan. 20) after averaging 27.0 points across the Huskies' two-game stretch against Michigan and Purdue.
Sellers matched a career-high 30 against Michigan, becoming just the fourth Big Ten player to record two 30-point games so far this season.
This was the second conference weekly nod for the Huskies, as Elle Ladine made the league honor roll after dropping 40 points at Northwestern.
The Huskies beat Purdue by 29 points on Saturday as UW raised Kelsey Plum's No. 10 jersey into the rafters of Alaska Airlines Arena. Washington's 87 points in the 87-58 victory was the most by the program in a conference game at home since 2017.
The Huskies shot 62.5% against the Boilermakers, just the third time since 2016 the team has shot above 60%.
SCOUTING REPORT
The Huskies are 6-2 all-time against the Hawkeyes, including 3-0 at home. The two teams haven't met since 2019, which was the only time this century the Huskies and Hawkeyes have faced off.
Iowa is 12-7 overall (2-6 Big Ten) and is on a five-game losing streak, most narrowly losing to Oregon in Eugene, 50-49 on Sunday.
The Hawkeyes finished 34-5 last season including a trip to the National Championship game, where they lost 87-75 to South Carolina in Iowa's second straight trip to the final game.
The Hawkeyes are led by first year head coach Jan Jensen, who in in her 25th season overall at Iowa.
