Huskies Fall To Hot-Handed Hawkeyes

SEATTLE – The Washington women's basketball team (13-7, 4-4 Big Ten) fell to the Iowa Hawkeyes 85-61 Wednesday night inside Alaska Airlines Arena.
Elle Ladine led the Dawgs with 24 points, three assists, and two rebounds as she recorded her sixth 20-point game of the season.
Sayvia Sellers added 13 points that all came in the fourth quarter as the Huskies outscored the Hawkeyes 22-14 in the final frame.
Dalayah Daniels added 11, while also chipping in two rebounds, two assists, and a career-high five steals.
Brenna McDonald finished with four rebounds and two points in 12 minutes off the bench, including her 300th career rebound.
The Hawkeyes (13-7, 3-6 Big Ten) connected on an efficient 71.7 percent from the field and 69.2 percent from three-point range (9-of-13).
Washington scored 27 points on 23 Iowa turnovers, the second most by the Hawkeyes this season.
The Huskies narrowed the gap in the fourth, shooting 50 percent from the field (8-of-16) and going on a 14-1 run in the final minutes.
The Huskies conclude their three-game home stand with a visit from Indiana on Monday, Jan. 27. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. inside Alaska Airlines Arena and on B1G+.
