September 19, 2024 | Women's Basketball
Washington women's basketball's inaugural season in the Big Ten tips off in a few short months, and today the full 2024-25 schedule has been released, featuring 11 opponents who made NCAA Tournament appearances last season.
The Huskies are coming off another historic season during the 2023-24 campaign - including tying the best start in program history at 11-0 and being ranked in the AP Top 25 poll for the first time since the 2016-17 - which culminated in a second-consecutive postseason appearance. Husky Nation can catch the Dawgs at home for nine non-conference games and nine B1G match-ups.
Washington's season and non-conference schedule begins Monday, Nov. 4 when the Huskies host crosstown rival Seattle U.
UW continues the non-conference schedule at home for three more games vs. Pacific, Sienna, and Eastern Washington (who last season made an NCAA Tournament appearance), before hitting the road for the first time in the season to take on Montana in Missoula, Mont.
The Huskies return home for two more games vs. Cal State Fullerton and Prairie View A&M before heading to the Bahamas for the Pink Flamingo Championship November 25 and 27 in Nassau.
The first Big Ten matchup will interrupt non-conference play on Sunday, Dec. 8 when Washington hosts familiar foe UCLA for an early conference game in Alaska Airlines Arena.
Non-conference will resume with a game at home vs. Utah (who advanced to the NCAA Second Round last season), followed by games vs. North Dakota State and Furman in the Husky Classic.
The first full weekend of Big Ten games picks up on Saturday, Dec. 28 when the Huskies hit the road to take on Northwestern followed by Illinois three days later.
The regular season's final weekend of games will be played the first weekend in March, when Washington takes on rival Oregon on Sunday, March 2 in Alaska Airlines Arena.
Conference play features an 18-game schedule, with each team playing one school both home and away, while facing 16 teams once.
