SEATTLE – The third jewel of the Dempsey Indoor season comes this weekend as Washington is set to host the Husky Classic, which typically lives up to its name every year. Some of the top teams in the NCAA are set to join the Huskies during the two-day meet, which starts at 1:30 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. on Saturday.
Runnerspace.com will provide a live stream of the action once again for subscribers.
The Huskies head into this week ranked No. 5 nationally on the men's side, and No. 11 on the women's side.
Just two home weekends remain for the Dawgs as they try and put together the strongest squad possible for the NCAA Indoor meet in March. Top-16 is the requirement for individuals to make it to NCAAs in Boston. The Huskies currently have eight women's marks in that top-16, and nine men's marks, but some of those will very likely need to be improved upon to remain top-16 in another month's time.
Ranked visiting teams include the second-ranked Northern Arizona men, and on the women's side, No. 9 BYU, No. 18 Stanford, No. 21 Northern Arizona, and No. 24 Colorado State. Additional teams coming from far and wide to the Dempsey include Arizona, Boise State, Cal Poly, California, Columbia, Eastern Washington, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Hawaii, Iowa State, Oregon State, Portland, UCLA, Utah, Utah State, UTEP, Villanova, Washington State, and Wyoming.
