
Dawgs To Face No. 1 UCLA In Big Ten Opener At Home

SEATTLE – The Washington women's basketball team (7-2, 0-0 Big Ten) will face its first test in its inaugural Big Ten season, facing the No. 1 UCLA Bruins on Sunday, December 8 at home inside Alaska Airlines Arena.
The game will be broadcast on B1G+ at 2 p.m. Elise Woodward and Charli Turner Thorne will be on the call. Gary Hill will call the game on 1090 KPTR-AM.
The first 500 fans to arrive will receive a free B1G x UW clear bag that can be used at Alaska Airlines Arena all season long.
There will be a Dubs Winter Wonderland photo station in the concourse outside section 4. Fans can stop by and take holiday inspired photos with Dubs. Session one will run from 1-1:40 p.m. and the second session will run from 2-2:15 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
The Dawgs return to Seattle after nearly a week in the Bahamas for the Pink Flamingo Championship. Washington went 1-1 in Nassau, concluding the trip with a 61-43 win over Southern.
Hannah Stines was named the Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship All-Tournament Team after dropping a season-high 18 points in the Southern victory.

Through 9 games for UW, Elle Ladine and Sayvia Sellers are tied for 11th in the Big Ten in total points (133).

The Bruins hold the No. 1 spot in the AP Top-25 Women's College Basketball Poll for the first time in program history as they are off to an 8-0 start to the season.
UCLA is led by head coach Cori Close in her 14th season at the helm of the Bruins.
Last season, Coach Close led the Bruins to their highest ranking in program history (until this year now at No. 1) when the team was ranked No. 2 for nine weeks of the season.
The Bruins finished the season 27-7, concluding with a NCAA tournament third round loss to LSU.
Washington is 33-40 all-time against UCLA, including a 21-14 record at home. The Bruins are currently on a seven-game win streak against UW, with Washington's last win coming on February 23, 2020.
