
Daniels Scores 23, Huskies Fall To Cougars

SEATTLE – Washington women's basketball (11-4, 1-3 Pac-12) fell in a tough game to Washington State (12-5, 1-3 Pac-12) 59-72 in Round 2 of the Boeing Apple Cup Series on Sunday afternoon in Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle, Wash.
The Huskies were off to a hot start, with Dalayah Daniels hitting a mid-range jumper for the first points of the game.
At halftime, Washington trailed by two, with Daniels leading the team in scoring with eight points.
Daniels finished with a game-high and season-high 23 points, just one point shy of tying her career high. She shot 75% and went 4-5 from the free throw line. Daniels led the team with eight rebounds. She also recorded three assists and a steal.
Elle Ladine was the other Husky in double-digit scoring, finishing with 14 points, four rebounds, and three assists.
Washington shot 46.2% from the field, their third-best field goal percentage of the season, and their highest in conference play.
The Huskies and Cougars split the season, with UW taking Round 1 in Pullman back on December 10.
