
Washington Defeats Oregon to Move On to WNIT Fab 4

SEATTLE – Washington women's basketball (19-14, 7-11 Pac-12) is moving on in the WNIT after defeating Oregon (20-15, 7-11 Pac-12) 63-59 in the Great 8 Sunday afternoon in Alaska Airlines Arena.
It was a battle the entire game, with both teams fighting to keep the tournament run going. In the fourth meeting between the two programs this season, the Huskies came out on top to move on to the Fab 4. This is the deepest run in the WNIT that Washington has made in program history.
"Grateful for these young women," head coach Tina Langley said. "Just grateful for the way they keep fighting for one another. They're just so much fun to coach."
A steal from Elle Ladine led to a layup from Trinity Oliver in the second quarter, tying the game up at 25. UW went into halftime with the 30-29 lead.
In the third quarter, the Huskies went on a 12-2 run to extend their lead in front of a loud, passionate crowd. As time expired, Jayda Noble stole the ball and Ladine laid it up for a seven point lead heading into the final frame.
In the final quarter, the Huskies went on an 8-0 run and secured the win at home. It was a close, hard-fought game, and took a total team effort.
Four Huskies scored in double digits – Elle Ladine (16 points led both teams), Dalayah Daniels (14), Lauren Schwartz (13), and Haley Van Dyke (11). Daniels also recorded her 11th career double-double and seventh this season, putting up a game-leading 13 rebounds.
Ladine had a career game, recording a career high nine rebounds and a game-leading career high six assists.
UW out-rebounded Oregon 49-34 and held the Ducks to under their season average field goal percentage.
The Huskies head to Lawrence, Kan. to take on Kansas in the WNIT Fab 4 on Wednesday, March 29 at 4:30 p.m. PT/7:30 p.m. ET.
