
Grothaus, Rees Named to Academic All-District Team

SEATTLE -- Washington women's basketball seniors Emma Grothaus and Darcy Rees have been named to the 2022-23 Academic All-District Women's Basketball Team, College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced Tuesday.
Academic All-District recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
Grothaus, a center from Mahtomedi, Minn., will be graduating from the University of Washington with her M.S. in Information Management, specializing in User Experience. Throughout her collegiate playing careers at Lehigh and Washington, Grothaus has recorded over 1,100 points, 700 rebounds, and 100 blocks and steals.
Rees, a center from Adelaide, South Australia, will be graduating from the University of Washington with a double major - B.A. in Psychology and B.A. in Early Childhood and Family Studies - and a minor in Diversity. Rees's 80 career blocked shots rank in the UW Top-10.
