Annual Husky Invitational Next For Dawgs
August 28, 2019 | Women's Soccer
SEATTLE -Β With two games in the books, the Washington Huskies are set to host the annual Husky Invitational this week. Washington will take on #2 North Carolina and New Mexico during the tournament, which begins Thursday, August 29. Portland will also play North Carolina and New Mexico at Husky Soccer Stadium this weekend.
This will be the second week in a row at home to start the 2019 campaign for the Huskies. Last week, Washington played to a pair of scoreless ties, 0-0 against both Portland and Seattle U. This week, Washington will host a top-ten opponent in North Carolina as well as New Mexico, which began 2019 with a win over #22 Texas Tech. This will be the third time in the last three years that Washington has hosted the nation's number-two team: the Huskies defeated #2 Florida in 2017, then fell to #2 UCLA later that year at Husky Soccer Stadium.
