SEATTLE -Β The Huskies (24-19, 9-12 Pac-12) continue their late-season push for a NCAA Regional invite by hosting Utah (12-28, 4-20 Pac-12) Friday through Sunday, followed by a single game against New Mexico State (33-12) out of the WAC on Monday.
The Huskies still have post-season aspirations and will need to navigate this weekend carefully. UW enters Friday's game with a RPI of 69, while Utah currently has a RPI of 144 and New Mexico State sits at 101. If the Huskies take care of business this week, they still have three games at UCLA, the number one ranked team in RPI. For good measure, the Huskies end the year by hosting No. 34 RPI ranked Cal.
The series against Utah this weekend will by carried by the Pac-12 Network with J.B. Long and former Husky great Kevin Stocker calling the action. Monday's game is available only on Pac-12 Video Streaming Β with Bill Abelson calling all the action.

SERIES HISTORY VS. UTAH
Washington leads Utah in the overall series, 18-8, and holds an 17-4 advantage since the Utes joined the Pac-12 in 2012. The first meeting between the two teams was in 1974 when Utah beat UW 10-2. The teams didn't meet again until 1995. In both 2018 and 2017, the Huskies swept Utah for a modest six-game win streak over the Utes. The Huskies have in fact won 8-straight over the Utes in Seattle. The series win by the Utes was 2016 when second-place UW dropped two-of-three allowing Utah to win the Pac-12 title. UW had won 9-straight against Utah before the Utes won the final two regular season games in 2016, meaning the Huskies have won 15 of the last 17 games between the squads.Β
NOTEWORTHY
β’ 50K Note: The Huskies are one of two teams in the Pac-12 (UCLA is the other) that have five pitchers who have recorded 50 or more strikeouts. It is the first time in UW Baseball history that they have ever had five pitchers record 50 or more K's. Josh Burgmann leads the Pac-12 with 89 and Chris Micheles is 8th with 66. Jordan Jones (60), Stevie Emanuels (56) and Jack Enger (55) have each struck out 50 or more batters. David Rhodes has 40 and could give UW six for the season.
β’ Academic Recognition: Senior Mason Cerrillo was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 first team. He boasts a 3.69 GPA and is majoring in putblic heath and environmental science.Β
β’ Kahle Walking Towards Record: With a 10 games left in the season, Nick Kahle has drawn 48 bases on ball, which is tied for second most in UW single-season history. His total is the most by a Husky in 19 years and he is threatening to break the all-time school record of 56 set by Chris Magruder in 1998.Β
β’ Ain't No Bull From The Pen: The UW bullpen has been lights out in 2019. They have combined for a 15-6 record with a 3.59 ERA, recording 214 strikeouts in 165.2 IP for a 11.6 K/9 average. The pen was responsible for all nine wins from March 23 until Jordan Jones won last Saturday at WSU -- a span of 23 games.
β’ Bramsco Streaking: Β Ramon Bramasco has a eight-game hit streak and has multiple hits six times during that span. He is 17-for-36 (.472) with 7 RBI, 2 doubles and a triple in those eight games.
β’ Ward Raking: Β Braiden Ward is 11-for-20 over the last four games, including 8-for-15 against WSU, including 5-for-6 with a career-high 3 RBI on Saturday and his first career home run on Sunday. He has raised his batting average from .285 to .318 in four games.
β’ Jones Top-10: Jordan Jones is on several UW career top-10 lists and is moving close to another. He ranks 8th all-time with 190 strikeout and needs one more to tie former teammate Joe DeMers for 7th all-time (list on Pg 3). Β His next start will be the 41st of his career, moving him up to a tie for 6th all-time among UW pitchers. He needs to pitch three innings to enter UW's top-10 list. Shawn Kohn sits 10th with 252.1 IP (Jones is at 249.1).
β’ Jones Milestones: Junior Jordan Jones has passed the 150 strikeout and 200 inning plateaus for his career. He needs 10 K's to become the sixth player in UW history to go 200/200 in both categories.
β’ Kahle 100 Straight Starts: On April 30, catcher Nick Kahle made his 100th consecutive start. He has started 104 games straight - 100 times at catcher, three times at designated hitter and twice in left field. Β
β’ Wainhouse Top-10: Senior Joe Wainhouse enters the weekend having homered in four of the last eight games. His latest homer binge has moved him into tie for eighth on the UW career list with 28 (list on pg 3).Β
β’ Man Of Steal: Β Braiden Ward is the current Pac-12 leader with 21 steals (25 attempts) and the team is 11-1 in games where Ward records a stolen base. He led the conference as a freshman in 2018 with 19 stolen bases.
β’ Non-Stop Shortstop: Ramon Bramasco has played all but thee innings of all 43 games this season -- all at shortsop. Bramasco has only been replaced in two games all season.
β’ Experienced Pen: Β The Huskies definitely have some experience in the bullpen with three relivers having made 50 or more appearances in their careers: Chris Micheles (63), Stevie Emanuels (62) and Leo Nierenberg (56). To crack UW's top-10 list, they need to reach 65 games.
