
Huskies Drop Regular Season Finale To UCLA

SEATTLE – Washington fell in the final game of the regular season to No. 1 UCLA, 6-1.
The Huskies finish the regular season campaign with a 23-31 record and a 12-18 mark in Big Ten play.
With the result, Washington is locked into the No. 11 seed in the Big Ten Tournament. The Huskies will face Ohio State at 7 p.m. PT on Tuesday, May 19.
The Huskies struggled in the final game against the top-ranked team in the nation, surrendering four runs in the first inning.
Washington scored in the top of the second on a sacrifice fly from Kevin Spear.
Jay Miller, Cooper McBride, and Peysen Sweeney pitched seven of the nine innings and held the Bruins to six hits, two runs, and one walk against eight strikeouts.
Miller had his best outing of the season, throwing 4.0 innings with only one run allowed and five strikeouts.
McBride's appearance was his season-debut and he performed well against the No. 1 team in the nation. The southpaw threw 2.1 innings, giving up just two hits and one run with three strikeouts and no walks.
Nolan Rowe also made his Washington debut, coming in as a pinch runner and finishing the game at catcher.
The Huskies return to action in the Big Ten Tournament on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. against Ohio State.
