Both teams are 2-2 over the last seven days with the Huskies going 1-2 against East Carolina and 1-0 vs. Gonzaga. Oregon won its first two games vs. Washington State before being no-hit in the series finale and dropping an 11-inning game Monday vs. Portland.

LAST WEEK
Starting pitching dominated the series between the Huskies and 11th-ranked East Carolina last weekend at Husky Ballpark. The three games featured a starter on either side that ranks among the top-20 nationally in earned run average. Unfortunately, two of them were on the Pirates roster. In game one, ECU ace Chris Holba (7-0, 1.33) Β carried his team to a 5-1 win and in game three Tyler Smith (5-0, 1.11) shutdown the Huskies over 7 innings in a 7-2 win. The Huskies lone win came behind Joe DeMers, who tossed a five-hit complete-game shutout ... The Huskies beat Gonzaga on Tuesday, 5-3, behind Willie MacIver's eighth inning two-run home run that broke a 3-3 tie.
SERIES HISTORY VS. OREGON
Oregon leads the series 146-133-1. The Ducks won 2 of 3 last year to win the series. UO won the first two games of last year's series each by one run before UW answered back with a 12-3 win, buoyed by a Willie MacIver grand slam HR. The last time in Seattle, the Huskies took 2 of 3. In fact, UW has won each of the last three series (2016, 2014, 2012) in Seattle by a 2-1 margin. Β The last time Oregon won a series in Seattle was 2010 when they took 2 of 3. Under the direction of Lindsay Meggs and since 2010, the Huskies are 12-14 against the Ducks. The first meeting between the two squads was in 1910 and the Huskies defeated the Ducks 14-0.
