
Huskies Face Oklahoma In Second Round Of NCAA Tournament

SEATTLE -- The No. 3 seeded University of Washington women's basketball team beat No. 14 seed Montana State 91-63 to advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive season and the 13th time in program history.
Washington will host No. 6 seed Oklahoma on Monday (March 20) at Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle at 6 p.m. PT. The game will air live on ESPN2 with Pam Ward and Gail Goestenkors on the call. Radio coverage will be available on AM 1150 KKNW and gohuskies.leanplayer.com.
The winner between Washington and Oklahoma will head to the Sweet Sixteen in Oklahoma City where they will face No. 2 seed Mississippi State.
Washington is making its 19th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and third-straight under fourth-year head coach Mike Neighbors. The Huskies enter postseason play with a 28-5 overall record. With 28 wins, this Washington squad has tied the program record for most wins in a season.
The Huskies are led by the elite duo of seniors Kelsey Plum and Chantel Osahor who lead the nation in scoring and rebounding, respectively. Plum is averaging 31.6 points per game while Osahor averages a double-double with 15.8 points and 15.4 rebounds. Osahor has accounted for an NCAA-leading 28 double-doubles this season. Freshman Aarion McDonald (9.5 points per game), junior Natalie Romeo (9.0) and senior Katie Collier (6.5) round out the starting five.
Romeo reached 1,000 points for her career in the first round of the NCAA Tournament against Montana State. The junior now has 1,008 career points and became the third player on this Washington roster to score 1,000 career points, joining Plum and Osahor.
