
Huskies Host UCLA With Sights Set On Seventh-Straight Win

SEATTLE - Washington closes out a long stretch of home matches on Sunday, hosting UCLA in a Pac-12 matchup at 5:00 p.m. at Husky Soccer Stadium.
The Huskies, who are ranked No. 22 in the latest NCAA/United Soccer Coaches Poll, improved to 9-2-0 with a solid 3-0 victory over San Diego State on Thursday. The victory was their sixth-straight win and improved their record in the conference to 2-0-0.
Washington's offense continues to impress, outscoring its opponents 19-4 over its last six matches, putting together a string of matches with two or more goals scored not accomplished since the 1999 season. The Huskies rank seventh in the NCAA in scoring offense, averaging 2.48 goals per match.
Sophomore Handwalla Bwana has had a hand in nine of those 19 goals, recording five goals and four assists in his last six matches. The 2016 Pac-12 Freshman of the Year leads the Huskies and ranks second in the conference with 17 points (6g, 5a), moving into a tie for the team lead in goals by recording his sixth against San Diego State on Thursday.
Sophomore netminder Seif Kerawala has recorded five shutouts in his 11 starts including three of his last four matches. The sophomore, who has occupying the Husky goal for all but one minute of play this season, recorded two-straight cleansheets against Utah Valley and Seattle U., making six saves vs the Redhawks. Lately, Kerawala has allowed just one goal over his last four matches and ranks second in the Pac-12 with a 0.82 goals against average.
