
No. 12 Washington Hosts No. 9 UCLA Sunday

SEATTLE -- The No. 12 University of Washington women's basketball team (15-2) continues Pac-12 play at home, hosting No. 9 UCLA on Sunday (Jan. 8). The game will be broadcast on ESPN2 as the Huskies look to remain undefeated at home this season. Washington is on a 12-game win streak going back to last year. The game will feature the top two scoring offenses in the Pac-12.
The Huskies are coming off a 77-67 win against USC at home on Friday (Jan. 6). In its first Pac-12 road trip of the season, Washington split a pair of games, beating Oregon (99-77) before falling to Oregon State (73-70).
The Huskies moved to No. 12 in the latest AP Top 25 poll, joining five other Pac-12 schools: UCLA at No. 9, Stanford at No. 10, Oregon State at No. 16, Arizona State at No. 19 and Cal at No. 20. In the latest RPI, Washington is ranked No. 8, joining UCLA (No. 5) and Oregon State (No. 7) in the Top 10.
With its highest ranking since 2003-04, the Huskies were selected to finish third in the Pac-12, receiving two first-place votes and garnering 93 points.
Washington is leading the nation in several categories this season including 191 three-pointers made, 11.2 three-pointers per game and 287 free throws made. The Huskies are 191-of-468 from three-point range, hitting at a .408 clip and 12 different players have hit at least one. The team's 88.8 points per game (fourth), 28.6 scoring margin (fifth), 78.4 free throw percentage (seventh) and 48.4 field goal percentage (eighth) are also at the top of the NCAA rankings.
Kelsey Plum and Chantel Osahor are leading the nation in several categories, including scoring and rebounding, respectively. Plum is averaging 30.2 points per game while Osahor is averaging 13.6 rebounds. Osahor's 13 double-doubles is also the most in the NCAA while Plum's 172 made field goals and 514 total points leads the nation. Plum, who is 121 free throws shy of breaking the 32-year-old NCAA career free throw record, also leads the NCAA with 111 made. The pair were both named to the 2017 Naismith Watchlist while Plum was also named to the watch list for the Wade Trophy.
The Huskies have hit or gone over the century mark five times this season, which ties a program record.
