
No. 8 Washington Travels Across State To Face Washington State

SEATTLE -- The No. 8 University of Washington women's basketball team (18-2, 6-1) continues Pac-12 play on Sunday (Jan. 23) when the team travels across state to face Washington State (8-10, 3-4) in Pullman. The game will air live on Pac-12 Networks at 1 p.m. PT.
The Huskies are coming off a road sweep in the desert, beating Arizona (90-73) and No. 18 Arizona State (65-54). Against the Wildcats, senior Kelsey Plum scored a game-high 36 and became the first player in Pac-12 history, women or men, to score 3,000 career points.
Prior to the Huskies' trip to Arizona, the team swept the L.A. schools at home, beating No. 13 UCLA 82-70 on Sunday (Jan. 8) after defeating USC 77-67 on Friday (Jan. 6).
Washington remained at No. 8 in the latest AP Top 25 poll, its highest ranking of the season, joining four other Pac-12 schools: Stanford at No. 10, Oregon State at No. 11, UCLA at No. 13 and Arizona State at No. 18.
In the latest RPI, Washington is ranked No. 7, joining Oregon State (No. 8), UCLA (No. 9) and Stanford (No. 11) in the Top 15. With its highest ranking since 2003-04, the Huskies were selected to finish third in the Pac-12, receiving two first-place votes and garnering 93 points.
Washington tops the NCAA in several categories this season, including leading the nation in made three-point field goals (217). The Huskies are 217-of-555 from three-point range, hitting at a .391 clip (9th) and 12 different players have hit at least one. The team's 10.9 three-point field goals per game ranks third.
The Huskies' 322 made free throws is second-most in the NCAA, while the squad's 78.2 free throw percentage is 10th-best. Washington's 25.4 scoring margin ranks fifth and 87.5 points per game ranks fourth.
Seniors Kelsey Plum and Chantel Osahor are leading the nation in scoring and rebounding, respectively. Plum is averaging 31.2 points per game and Osahor is averaging 13.8 rebounds per game. Plum also leads the NCAA in made three-pointers (68), made free throws (133), field goals made (211) and total points (623). Osahor's 16 double-doubles also leads the nation.
