
No. 8 Washington Travels To Tempe To Face No. 19 Arizona State

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The No. 8 University of Washington women's basketball team (17-2) continues Pac-12 play in Tempe on Sunday (Jan. 15) to face No. 19 Arizona State. The game will be broadcast live on Pac-12 Networks.
The Huskies are coming off a 90-73 win against Arizona in Tucson on Friday (Dec. 13). In the game, senior Kelsey Plum became the first player in Pac-12 history, women or men, to score 3,000 career points. The Poway, Calif. native scored a game-high 36 points and now has 3,007 points.
Prior to the Huskies' trip to Arizona, the team swept the L.A. schools at home, beating No. 17 UCLA 82-70 on Sunday (Jan. 8) after defeating USC 77-67 on Friday (Jan. 6).
Washington moved to No. 8 in the latest AP Top 25 poll, its highest ranking of the season, joining five other Pac-12 schools: Oregon State at No. 10, Stanford at No. 13, UCLA at No. 17, Arizona State at No. 19 and Cal at No. 24.
In the latest RPI, Washington is ranked No. 9, joining Oregon State (No. 5), Stanford (No. 12) and UCLA (No. 13) in the Top 15. With its highest ranking since 2003-04, the Huskies were selected to finish third in the Pac-12, receiving two first-place votes and garnering 93 points.
Washington tops the NCAA in several categories this season, including leading the nation in made three-point field goals (213). Washington is 213-of-534 from three-point range, hitting at a .399 clip and 12 different players have hit at least one. The team's 11.2 three-point field goals per game ranks third.
Washington's 315 made free throws leads the NCAA, while the squad's 78.0 free throw percentage is 12th-best. The Huskies' 26.1 scoring margin ranks fifth and 88.5 points per game ranks fourth.
Seniors Kelsey Plum and Chantel Osahor are leading the nation in scoring and rebounding, respectively. Plum is averaging 31.0 points per game and Osahor is averaging 13.5 rebounds per game. Osahor's 15 double-doubles also tops the NCAA.
