EUGENE, Ore. – Washington pushed their Pac-12 record over .500, earning a 91-69 road win against Oregon. The big win was also rich in Husky milestones as Aminah Williams became Washington's all-time leading rebounder and Jazmine Davis went over 2,000 career points.
The night belonged to Williams who broke the record with a rebound on the first possession of the second half. The six-foot senior who played guard as a freshman, completed the remarkable journey to the top of the record books. She finished with 11 boards on the night and now has 1,010 for her career.
The Dawgs also did plenty of scoring, something they have made a habit of against Oregon in recent years. Davis finished with 13, become the second Husky to surpass 2,000 for a career. Meanwhile, Kelsey Plum had another huge night with 35 on 12-19 shooting, including 4-7 from the 3-point range and 7-7 from the foul line. Talia Walton added 16 points on 8-14 shooting.
Davis became just the 16th player in Pac-12 history to reach 2,000 points as she is now within 20 points of Jamie Redd's all-time Husky scoring record.
Meanwhile, Plum regained the nation's scoring lead with her seventh 30-point game of the season. She also finished with five rebounds, five assists and did not commit a turnover.
The Dawgs jumped out to an 18-5 lead, making their first four 3-pointers. Plum and Brianna Ruiz both made a pair as the Huskies shredded the Oregon zone defense. The Ducks didn't go away, using an 8-0 run to pull within four with 8:47 to play in the half.
Washington responded, however, shooting less 3-pointers and instead getting to the basket at the free throw line. The Dawgs led by as many as 11 late in the half and took a 40-31 margin to the break.
Williams tied the record late in the first half with a classic hustle rebound that she has done so many times before. She tipped the ball away from a bigger player then chased it down and saved it from going out of bounds to a teammate. The Husky senior also became just the 18th player in Pac-12 history to reach the 1,000 rebound milestone.
After the break, Washington put the foot on the gas pedal, outscoring the Ducks 51-38, while shooting 20-34 (58.8 percent) in the half. The Dawgs opened on a 12-5 run and built a 20-point lead at the 14:20 mark on a 3-pointer from Ruiz. Ruiz finished 3-5 from 3-point range to add nine points to the Husky total.
The half belonged to the Husky backcourt, however, as Plum scored 17 and Davis had 11 on a combined 10-13 shooting. Washington led by as many as 26 and cruised to the 22-point margin.
The Dawgs will finish the road trip Monday night when they travel to Corvallis to face the ninth-ranked Beavers. Oregon State came from behind to beat Washington State on Friday to remain unbeaten in conference. The huge early season matchup will tip at 5 p.m. live on the Pac-12 Networks.
