Game Notes
Washington has been confirmed as the host for Wednesday's WNIT quarterfinal matchup with Oregon. The game will begin at 7 p.m. at Bank of America Arena.
The win marked June Daugherty's 100th at Washington, improving her record to 100-77. The only other coach to win 100 games for the Huskies is current USC coach Chris Gobrecht who compiled a career record of 243-89 in 12 seasons at Washington.
The 97-87 Washington win this afternoon marks the third time this season the Huskies have beat the Trojans and the first time UW has defeated a team three times in one season since sweeping three games from Washington State in the 1985-86 season.
Today's game marks the third time Washington has faced a Pac-10 team in the post season and its first win in that situation. The Huskies were defeated 73-47 by Stanford in the 1991 NCAA Tournament and lost 78-62 to UCLA in the postseason in 1985.
Washington's 22 assists against USC was its third highest total of the season. Washington made 10 of 19 three point field goals (54.8%) to set a season high for percentage.
Washington made 33 of 61 field goal attempts (.541) to set its second highest field goal percentage of the season. USC was also hot from the field, with a .540 field goal mark (34 of 63) that was the second best by a Husky opponent this season.
USC's Aisha Hollans set a new career high with 34 points on 14 of 21 shooting. Hollans and forward Ebony Hoffman combined to score 59 of USC's 87 points. The two also led the Trojans in rebounding, with four and eight, respectively. Hoffman also added seven assists, challenged only by Hollans' five.
Sarah Keeler's 12 points matched her career high set against UCLA earlier this season.
