Washington has won seven of its last eight games.
The Huskies trailed 62-54 with 12 minutes remaining in the game when Franza scored seven points during a 13-2 run that gave Washington its first lead of the second half at 67-64 with 8:29 remaining.
There were three more lead changes before the Huskies took the lead for good on a Mendiola free throw that put Washington up 74-73 with 3:39 remaining.
Washington coach June Daugherty won her 200th career game. She is in her fifth season coaching Washington after seven seasons coaching at Boise State.
The loss stopped Stanford's four-game road winning streak.
