WAshington junior Loree Payne hit seven three-pointers to equal a school record set by Megan Franza at UCLA on March 10th of this year. Payne's 15 attempts from beyond the arc were the most in Husky history.
Washington's 36 three-pointers attempted is an all-time high, breaking the record of 32 set twice: at UCLA, March 10th, 2001 and vs. Arizona, Jan. 13th 2001.
Michigan's LeeAnn Bies tallied a career high 27 points and 11 rebounds. She checked out of the game with her fourth foul at 6:19 of the second half, with Michigan leading 60-55. During the 2:34 she was out of the game, Washington went on a 7-0 run to take a 62-60 lead. After returning to the game, she scored eight of Michigan's last 11 points, including the two free-throws with 10 seconds remaining.
The win was the 100th for Michigan head coach Sue Guevara in her career.
Loree Payne's 23 points tied her season high, also set against Boise State on Nov. 27.
UW sophomore Andrea Lalum had her third double-double of the season with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
There were 15 lead changes and eight ties during the game. Washington's biggest lead was eight points with 5:54 remaining in the first half, while Michigan led by as much as five with 10:31 to go in the game.
Washington, the 2000-01 Pac-10 rebounding leader, averaged 42.7 rebounds, while going 4-2 over its first six games, but has averaged just 32.0 in its last three games, going 1-2 in that stretch.
Michigan's 50 rebounds were an opponent season high.
